Include the Table of Contents - (Include the bold and underlined sections from below)
Principles of Ecology - (table of contents)
Define ecology.
Organisms and Their Environment
Abiotic vs Biotic Factors - Define both terms. Post pictures of 3 abiotic factors and 3 biotic factors (make sure to identify which are each)
Levels of Organization - Identify by typing (NOT PICTURES) the 6 levels of organization from largest to smallest. Create a SLIDESHOW that shows each level in that order (6 slides, 1 slide per level)
Symbiosis - Identify and define the 3 types of symbiosis. Provide a labeled picture of each. In the caption, identify each oragnism and how it's affected.
Nutrition and Energy Flow
How do organisms obtain energy?
Define the terms: autotroph, heterotroph, & decomposer. Provide an example of each.
Provide a picture of a food web from two of the following biomes: tundra, savannah, taiga, tropical rainforest, desert.
Identify 1 food chain within each biome.
How does energy flow through an ecosystem?
Include the sentence "Food chains and food webs deal with both matter and energy. When ecologists want to focus only on energy, they use another type of model--an ecological pyramid."
Provide a picture of each of the following: pyramid of numbers, biomass pyramid, & energy pyramid.
Explain how the numbers, biomass, & energy are transferred as you move from the bottom to the top tropic levels.
